Title: 1994 FD3S Japanese import standard alarm?
Post by: Evil Twin on January 28, 2007, 05:44:44 PM
Hi all

I was out cleaning my car today when the horn started sounding in alarm fashion (on/off/on/off etc). I walked round to the drivers side, inserted the key, turned it to an accessory position and it stopped.

I\'ve noticed that sometimes when you open the door or leave it open it you get a toot form the horn aswell.

My question is, was there a standard alarm installed on these cars from the factory?  and if so how does it operate (eg. what arms it? what sets it off? and why does it toot the horn randomly?)

Thanks in advance

Russell.

I\'m 99% sure there was no alarm even as an option... I\'m lead to beleive that all JDM cars never have an alarm fitted...

I could be wrong mind ;)

That\'s interesting because the way it sounded the horns not an external siren made me think factory install.

I may have to have a dig round to see what I can find lurking behind the dash.

Thanks for the reply

that\'s what I thought too... well, that\'s what I found out shortly before lashing out £300 on a full central locking CAT1 alarm...  :2Confused
