Title: Solenoid valve (Double Throttle Control)?
Post by: Shaq on December 21, 2003, 03:00:13 PM
I managed to break this last night    one of the nipples on it, I was wondering is this part fairly easy to get hold of ? or is it gonna be one of those things I have to order from japan? :( , could I just order it from mazda UK ?

It has the number: AESA127 â€" 3

I am presuming this is the part number?

Thanks

Shaq

Save yourself £25.00.  You don\'t need the double throttle anyway (just dont hammer the car when its cold!).

Cap off the vacuum pipe from the Intake extension manifold (this will probably be the one you broke at the solenoid anyway...)

Take out one of the bolts that hold the double throttle actuator in place and replace it with a longer bolt (M6 about 50mm long) with loads of washers to make up the distance.  The trick is to open the double throttle (manually) b4 you put the bolt in, and then the cam rests on the washers preventing the double throttle from closing.

I have done this to mine with absolutely no side-effects at all (having broke the same solenoid!).  Let us know if you have any problems...

I knackered that solenoid too when i was changing the check valves. If you haven\'t binned them yet would I be able to pinch 1 from you? I have been waiting nearly 2 months for a full rack I bought from someone.
Still trying to resolve my boost probs.

I\'m only running 10 on stock twins just now... my main problem is in transition and secondary. Sometimes I get no boost If I shift quick..... also the boost flutters between 8-10 during transition. The car was de-catted before I got it.

10 psi is stock, so are u getting 10psi boost on your second turbo as well, so you dont have a boost leak, sounds like a vacumm hose problem like Shaq said
