Title: Which injectors?
Post by: Ian@TunerUK on January 24, 2007, 05:11:47 PM
Right, just running the car in now, I\'m running (what I think is) a street port, decat HKS exhaust, Apexi twin induction, stock twins and it\'ll mapped with an Apexi ECU/commander.

Now I\'m guessing to get the most I\'m going to have to uprate the injectors? If so what size/sort will I need? Also will it be usefull to get a Walbro fuel pump at the same time? Again what sort etc...

What sort of power at what boost should I be looking at with these mods once fully in and mapped? Fly and wheels figure guesstimates...

Thanks
Ian

Depending on how far in the future you want to go with power it might be an idea to get the 1600 secondary injectors with fuel rail in now, otherwise you might spend money getting 1300\'s in but in the future want more power???

1300\'s are good for over 400bhp, if you are gonna go over say 460bhp then 1600\'s would be better.

Walboro fuel pump should do the trick, or a BNR33 fuel pump ??? :yes

With a street port to maxamise the potential you will need additional fueling, most cars hit a wall at about 280ish rwhp on stock fueling, to get the best you need bigger injectors or additional ones, both have thier advantages, simple way is to go bigger [1200\'s or 1680] others have gone for 850 all round [this tends to give a lumpy tickover/ low revs lumpyness] or add an additional pair [550] with this you would need an extra controller which adds to the expence.
All the above options you would need a bigger fuel pump [me I would go for a skyline or Supra pump] and a FPR then get it tuned by one of the banners on this forum and you should see some good results providing you have all the other bits in place.
