Post by: flatty on January 23, 2007, 11:44:36 PM
had my apexi PFC mapped today @ engine advantages in witham!
excellent company and very helpful can highly recommend them!

car is now running 337.6BHP!

thats with induction kit, turbo back decat exhaust, apexi PFC, and an xs power smic

the limiting factor was the smic, i need a FMIC asap! not so bad in this weather but soon as it starts getting a little warmer its gonna need it.

the guy reckoned with a front mount i should see 350+ bhp

Be careful with engine advantages, they tend to map to the limit, rather than holding back for safety which is especially not wise on a rotary. As there local to me i have heard a fair few storys about them.

Ask him for a print out of your a/f and boost just to show the guys on here to make sure all is safe.

No offence, 337 at the wheels or at the engine??

with those mods to make that power i rekon your injector duty must be quite high, and it must be quite lean.

It is Second hand, but its here in the UK.  The one on ebay is in Hong Kong so you probably will end up paying import duty and Tax on top of that price.

That is a great figure what boost is that at?
Just had mine mapped by Pip (Great bloke) and had 280fwhp but then only at 0.8 boost.

Need to decat mine and hopefully then hit 300 fwhp which will do for now and which is why I\'m impressed with your result.
:Thumbs-up

i got mine done at pips
for a remap
fit a smic and  fit greddy elbow
came to 600+
for 2.5 hrs work
not bad but since i cant do it then im happy to pay.

my outputs 300 fwhp and 257whp unsure if this is low or not and dont know how to check injector duty on pc so im happy its running ok though lol

The Map itself is £300 + VAT and should only take 1-2 hours. (this includes fitting PFC) Re map would be cheaper.
I ended up getting him to look at other bits aswell and ended up being there for about 5 hours :Laugh

I don\'t think he minded too much, although he did say "I\'ll map this safely so I wont have to see you again for some time"

Best bet is to give him a bell. Really helpful and will set your mind at rest.

Those hp figure sound good to me. I assume you have:
Induction
SMIC
De Cat Exhaust
PFC

anything else?
Cheers

think Pip charged me £100 plus vat for minor remap (Pip did it a few weeks before new bits fitted) due to additional injectors/walbro - ended up 305RWHP well pleased - top man

yeah i think it might be... its been fine for the last 3 months but its off the road now as it needs a new diff...

but i did buy the apexi second hand and he had it mapped to his rx7 which has exactly the same mods except i have a smic, i know everywhere is different but im pretty sure its not running lean, runs perfect atm.

but as soon as the diff is sorted im getting reworx to remap it for me properly and i should have an even higher bhp reading :)

Interesting read in the RX-7 Magazine, they had a FMIC, SMIC and VMount, took each car out for 3 laps to see the difference.

FMIC.
Water: 95c
Intake: 57c

SMIC.
Water: 86c
Intake: 69c

V-Mount.
Water: 86c
Intake: 61c

This was done by the intercooler builder G-Vanna who make a sweet V-Mount like the HKS one.

Basically, go V Mount :chat
