Title: Crap, What should I do, MOT time.
Post by: allstaruk on January 14, 2007, 04:43:40 PM
Hi ya guys,

I\'m in the process of doing a lot of bits and bobs to the RX7, and I\'ve just started thing is I\'ve just realised that the MOT is due so I need to get it through.

So here is the dilema, I was planning on putting the CAT back on and the standard ECU in to get it throught the MOT, this would put it back in a drivable state till I can get the remaining parts I need to complete the mods but I\'ve just realised that I have removed the ACV and air pump.

So the question is can i run my car on the standard ECU with the no airpump and ACV and what do I do with the airpump feed to the CAT do I just make a blanking plate for the hole in the CAT.

Or will the standard ecu run the car ok with No airpump, ACV and a cat back and silenced mid pipe?

Hi ya clive,

Its not just about the emmisions problem, its mainly cause its not running to well as its only half done and needs finishing and mapping i was just hoping to be able to put it back to a state where it runs fairly well so I can get it through and MOT till I have time to finish modding.

hi, sorry to butt in on the emmisions thing but my 92 has just failed on co @ 6.5. it has apexi intake and a new back box but every thing else is standard exept an apexi afc wich is set at neutral(just for show). a friend told me his was let through even though it was over 3.5 because it was an import? does anyone know if imports are different and where i can download the data?. and does anyone know what the emesions should be roughly - might have to take the apexi afc out the loop if its the problem but would rather leave it if thier is another way to adjust the emmisions like the pot on my 90 fc?
