... for me, is not having to do 3 point turns anymore...
Turn the wheel, give it some revs, drop the clutch...
BOOM - 180!!
:Thumbs-up
I can\'t let it go!
Both old and young admire it.
Only Porsche and Ferrari get respect....don\'t mention Beem n Merc:Giggle
Unique engine noise
Once you respect it, it will respect you!!!!!!!!!!1:cheers
for me, Porsche\'s don\'t get respect... I enjoy watching them size me up..
ooer, that sounded a bit dirty LOL
Then I enjoy blasting them into the rear view mirror.... :DD
I had my first scary moment the other day -
Over Christmas I went out for a spin... roads were dry but it was very cold...
I eventually got onto this road that was especially cold, was in shadow and probably had some surface ice, though it was invisible....
I was pulling away from a roundabout, pretty slowly, in 3rd, reached about 50mph and the back end just snapped out... no warning... I was facing the central reservation!!
Managed to get it back in line, back had to change me underwear LOL...
turned around and decided to head back... all the way back on that road, the back end was really twitchy... in any gear I could feel it stepping out, so I crawloed home and thanked my lucky stars... I thoguht my LSD had crumpled, it felt so bad, but all is fine.
Also spun at a roundabout - backend spun out at about 15mph, literally... since that day I give major respect to the Rex.
Drive sensibly and she\'s fine... be a **** and you\'ll end up in the wall... simple as.
Tis true,
Had a burn with a Carrera gt4...he gave the respect sign and we went our own way.:driving
Now, would a Beem/Merc do that???.................i doubt it.........it\'s a funny old world ain\'t it??:rollin :p
Rummy,
your comments on the rear-end reminds me of my first year of ownership...i had a few moments of "brown-trousers" and "Ooo, that was close".............regular driving of the FD provides fairly quick "how to drive it" feelings!:guinness
yeah, its gotta be a proper Porsche... like the gt... none of this cheap, yummy mummy nonsense :)

The thing is, I\'m really quite a sensible driver... I don;t floor it on the bends and I take care to watch the road conditions... I was driving normally and it still caught me out... I had been driving the car for months, sometimes (ok, quite often) a lot more aggresively than I was here and yet is still snapped out...
I even considered winter storage after that... but I couldn\'t bring myself to shut her away!!
:burnout
Are all your tyres the same brand?....makes a huge difference.
Knackered suspension leads to wallowy ride.
Like any RWD motor, it\'s fun but unpredictable!:2eek :Giggle
The best thing is watching people who think they\'ve got fast cars disappearing in your rear view mirror, because they don\'t know what a rex is.
I had someone with a T5 Volvo (for god\'s sake!!!) thinking he was a bit hot, diving between lanes trying to get one car ahead or everyone, he pulled up very close behind me on the motorway, I didn\'t even bother dropping a gear for that...enjoyed watching disappear, he didn\'t get quite so close to me after that.
Yeah you gotta laugh when some tool in a gti or whatever thinks he is fast. When i fitted my pfc on thu i took it for a spin. Bear in mind that my fd is totally stock except twin k&n filters and now the pfc. I was driving along the bypass by my house which is ace for testing the performancce of the car. There was a nissan almera gti infront. When the road opened up to a long straight the almera gunned it and shot off up the road leaving me about 100 meters behind. I thought well i might as well floor it and see what a difference this pfc makes so i floor it. Before i know it im flying past this almera and all i could do was laugh at how pathetic this almera gti driver looked. It was one of the most funniest moments i\'ve had in the fd.
I didnt know anyone with one and none about where I stay so it makes it a bit more speshul!

front tyres are different to the rear.
And I *may* have slight suspension issues, not sure yet - its going into Re:Worx on tuesday for a full service.... Feels fine to me, but they said I should get it looked at when they fixed my LIM before Xmas.. :reallymad
What is "LIM" RR??:evillaugh
Best I had was a guy in a ford puma trying to beat me off the lights.
Enough said.... you know the result. After 1 second he gave up :Laugh

i did that for the 1st time yesterday - great feeling :Thumbsup!
...decats... nuff said!
I like flooring it down slip roads then realising you\'re going waay faster than the people in the outside line by the time you get to the end and having to slow down...oops. Not that I would be breaking the speed limit of course ;)
There\'s so many brilliant parts to owning a rex!!! The smlie she puts on my face every time i look at her! The admiring stares and the long looks when she\'s in the sun changing colours, people just captivated by the changes!!Kids stopping dead in their tracks, rushing to get their camrea phones out to get a picture. The noise the car makes, and when the screamer pipe kicks in and the power say goodbye everything bar italian exoctica! I could go on,but i won\'t:o :o
It\'s the most fantastic Supercar that we can own and it eats other Supercars for lunch..................:evillaugh

Lower Inlet Manifold... or was it the Upper Inlet Manifold...
as you can probably guess, I drive it, I don\'t fix it! :Hammer

TBH It\'s probably worth getting matched rubber (as said, it make such a difference!) and a full geometry check and setup done, i.e. not just toe that CrapFit do but check the castor (should be fine), toe and camber of all four wheels with half a tank of juice and a 70KG (we\'re averaging here!) sack in the seat ;)
I need to get mine done once I get the new suspension on, can\'t wait :D

Used to have a Merc C43AMG and the answer was/is yes, at least in my case.:god
as said before decat lol
sitting in 2nd gear then lifting the throttle just as u pass and old person and a dog and the car lets out on ealmighty pop/bang and you see the dog **** bricks lol.
or flooring it and as u lift u get huge flames from the rear(not that ive seen it but been told)
the best part of owning a rx is the looks i get anywhere i drive it. puts a huge smile on my face every time i start it up.
once u learn to drift it, -assuming its set up for it-
u wont stop, its just soo much fun.

Yeah, I mean to get a full geometry check, but have other more pressing worries.... :( see thread here (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33831)
Bummer! Good luck getting it sorted!!!
just sitting in it and starting it up.
You also never know if your gonna make it back!
