Title: quick apexi question
Post by: Adie Moore on January 12, 2007, 05:40:40 PM
long story short... dose the pfc have a fule cut when it detects over boost?

long story... cars been tucked up in the garage for the last 2 months and as today was about the first dry day for a while, i thought i\'d give her a run out. First problem was a flat battery not, a problem got her going from a jump quite easly (i\'v read on here that the pfc dose not loose its map from a loss of power, can some one conferm this, cheers). so cars running, fast foward 15 mins, i\'m driving along everything is nice and warm. had a few WOT runns up to about 5-6k rpm. so, i\'v pulled up to a big round about, and i decide for a full on launch, this is where it goesa wrong, i\'v never had it in this car, but a 200sx i had, standard ecu but filter, full exhaust and an uprated auctuater user to do it when it was a particullary cold day. its almost like as your revs are flying round you\'v sudenly lifted off the gas, and its realy quite vilolant deseleration. the pfc read .68 boost peek but i dont know if this was from than or from eairlyer. also i\'v never seen a higher reading than that on the pfc. their was no noise or any thing, and after everything was fine. what do you all think?
cheers adie

PFC DOES NOT lose it\'s map after flat battery or loss of power

Maybe could be a blocked fuel pipe ?  Did you see any knock readings ??

Hi

It does not seem to be a very high boost level, you should reach 0.750 on a first turbo and 0.800 on second if I am correct…or is it the other way round (stock RX7 boost)…

Have you got a boost gauge you can watch while accelerating?

cheers guys. i forgot to look at the knock reading before i switched it off, but the heat light didnt come on. i know the boost is a bit low, but when pip mapped it he seemed quite happy ( he said it was the exhaust b\'box, dam HKS) fule filter has done about 6k. i\'ll just have to keep an eye on it and see if it dose it next time.

cheers again

had another thought today, could this be caused by air being sucked in to the fuel pump, the fuel system is completly standard, and only had about 1/4 of a tank, also both times it happned i was going round a left corner?

ah ok

it is when there is not much fuel left in the tank, you go round a bend, and get fuel cut because the fuel level changes with the g.

You can get a swirl pot to stop this happening.

The manual for the PFC says that the the boost cut is at 0.25 kg/cm2 over the configured boost setting.
