Title: Tachos
Post by: TonyC on January 07, 2007, 10:52:41 PM
Not the tasty, crunchy things I like with a cold beer, but rev counters.

I need to fit an aftermarket tacho to the race car, but here comes my rotary engine confusion. Can I use a normal aftermarket tacho? Normally those come configurable for 4, 6 or 8 cylinder engines. But it\'s a rotary!

Do I need some special tacho, or are those for piston engines suitable (maybe set to 4 cylinder as there are 4 spark plugs on the rotary?)

All advice gratefully received.

Tony

Ah, superb! I\'ll add to my Autosport shopping list for Thursday.  My Aladin\'s cave of things to be fitted is going to be full. It\'s already got fuel pumps, swirl pots, gauges, switches, braces, harnesses, flocked dashboard....
Good job my wife thinks I\'m ugly and she likes the milkman:D

Just a general idea where you stuck the stanley blade would be a useful start. Cheers.

hiya mate , ritey then here goes , the feed wire on your tacho (usually green) goes to the back of the dials where the plug is that plugs into your standard rev counter , the wire you have to break is BROWN with BLUE STRIPES , looking from outside the car to the back of the dials its the 3rd one down on the right hand side of the plug , hope that sorts it for ya , have the mirrors arrived yet ???
