Title: How do I break my FD?
Post by: warrendj2000 on December 17, 2003, 04:00:08 PM
I’ve got a question, (purely theoretical). If I want to convince the AA man that my RX7 has given up the ghost and that the fault is sufficiently terminal to persuade him my journey to the garage should be continued on the back of a tow truck, what would be the best component to doctor?

Flood it, and refuse a tow start...

Failing that, remove the connector from the pressure sensor. It should refuse to run, even though it might fire up... (well, the TII does...)

The reason I ask is because my FD runs like a dog once the engine is up to temperature.  Living in Essex, I don’t want to drive it the 100+ miles to one the specialists on the South Coast in this state and being tight I don’t want to pay for the car to be transported.

Thats all good and well, as long as you have thought about how you are getting home again!

I think you have to go with the car on mos the schemes as they only take you to your supposed destination.
