Ive got the option on a OEM style carbon bonnet. Now the bonnet on my car is a flat white and my car is a pearl. As some of us know, matching pearl white is a pretty hard task....so im tempted to go for CF (erring away from my stock fetish I know....but not a major detraction i would hope!)
But Ive never seen a carbon bonnet on a white FD before so im wondering?
Carbon Bonnet + Pearl white? Yay or Nay?
So far the implications i can see are:
If i drive thru London at night with a Carbon bonnet, drunk people are gonna stand in the street and hail me like im some sort of taxi.
Its not stock....and heres me preaching about going stock...having said that, pearl white is a bitch to match!
Any pics of a white car with carbon bonnet will be gratefully received!!
:wave
looks crap if you ask me mate
Depends on what else you got on the car, if its stock then No it would\'nt look right.
i dont think its that bad, its just that it looks like a bit of an after thought, maybe with some brand stickers down the door, a metalic gray/gun metal finish to the wheels. i dont know, even painting the roof and a and b pillers black. just to bring it all togother.
Yeah, stock & carbon on its own doesn\'t look very good.
Recon a nice GT Carbon wing should go on the second piccie and it would look :cool
It would defo need some sort of kit or something like Black wheels???

My car as it currently stands...i wish i had some photos which show the front...then i could ask some onto to potatochop it :(
Aftermarket front splitter, mazda spats all round and mazda sideskirts, racing beat split rims and a c west gt wing...
THe c-west may be getting ditched shortly for something more subtle.
Defo not stock.....
You need a pic of yours that Includes the Bonnet ;)
i deleted them all...cos they looked crap with the flat bonnet!
Aerosol it Mat black if it does\'nt match as it is? at least then you will have an idea of what it will look like.
But realisticy you want to be looking for a Bodyshop that does alot of Pearl paint jobs, if you blend the wings you may get away with it if they know what there doing and you can tell what the base colour was.
As others have said if your car is stock and has just the carbon bonnet it wont look as good as something that is kitted with decent wheels and other carbon trick bits here and there giving a overall nice look ?
Or buy the bonnet and store it till you get other stuff done ? :Santa
a few cars ago I had a pearl astra mk3, common vauxhall problem and my arches started to rust. Bottom half respray I thought... booked into the company who painted it the first time and the bottom half came out cream! I was gutted it loooked terrible to me so I sold the car.
I go with the get some rattle cans (exhaust paint would be best as you wouldnt need to rub down) paint the bonnet and see what it looks like it. Looks **** then bite the bullet and get it sprayed pearl but let them know its "got to match".
I say paint it to match the car for you car at the moment :)
Here are some pics of mine when I had \'that look\' I really liked it at first but went off it in the end - just my opinion. Hope these help yur decision. You could always do part carbon, part paint? Have the carbon next to the wings so you cant see the difference in the pearl paint?
