Title: New SMIC Yippee
Post by: Crazy Eddie on January 06, 2007, 12:12:09 PM
Hi guys just having a look at my new SMIC and was wondering if I could fit it either way round?
Ie the 1 way would mean relocating battery where as the other way would fit fine before it even interfered with Air Filter.
My question is though if there as a flow direction through these or would it work just as well whichever way I put it in.
Cheers in advance
Eddie

Yeah that is how it has been fitted but I noticed that the mounts can be swaped so was wondering if there is any reason I can\'t fit the other way round to save me relocating battery.

Well I\'m going to try and fit this today so if there is anything anyone knows then please post up. I can\'t see any reason why I can\'t fit it the other way round so will post pics when done and hopefully someone will let me know if it looks ok.
Cheers

There isn\'t a flow direction internally on an intercoolers

Most of the Big jap stuff i.e. 3 row greddy\'s, HKS and knight sport kits have different inlet and outlet sizes depending on application/veichle. Its just something that sometimes needs to be checked.

New IC looks soooo much better than the old :cool

I bought it from DJ Dee off here for £130 without hard pipes as I already had those. RM had it before so don\'t know where it was from originally.
Really pleased though seems a great bit of kit for the money.
Getting car mapped at Pip\'s soon so will see what he thinks of it.

If its got a small and a large pipe, the large needs to go on the inlet. Ideally you want to minimise the number of times the air changes direction as that adds to pressure drop. HTH :)

Yeah both pipes are same size like the stock IC so there were no problems with fitting my HKS hard pipes to it.
