Afternoon!
I see a lot of Rex\'s being privately sold with a warranty. Is there a company which sells waranties?? Anyone know who they are?
Don\'t mind shelling out £300 or so if it\'s gonna save me £1800 on a rebuild somewhere down the line... :D

In a nutshell - it wont.
The only company I\'ve seen that will cough up any where near the full cost of a rebuild wanted a lot more than £300. A lot of FD\'s are now +10 years old which makes them troublesome...
Most of the warranties you see that the traders use have £1000-max claims from what I\'ve seen. That covers the cost of removal/refitting and may be a housing and a half if you\'re lucky!
Save your £300 a year and hope it lasts IMO.
"Some" Dealers tend to say they cover rebuilds but it seems most don\'t so be careful

Yes, I\'ve only found one company who is touching the RX - Warranty Works (//www.warrantyworks.co.uk) who charge £295 and, as you say, limit each claim to £1000 but no limit to the amount of claims. But, speaking to them, their underwriters are thinking of excluding the RX shortly.
Trouble is, my water seal is on the way out and we all know what that means... :( Have to start a Rex sinking fund me thinks...

from what I have heard warranty companies will try anything to get out of paying and any mods will invalidate policy, and they inspect the car before paying out so its a difficult one
Dave
Rotary Imports provide full rebuild warranty with their cars,
which is and has been very good!
Paul..
Might have to get me one of those, :) What company is it with ?
Rotary imports have a good reputation

I imagine Bri has some thing sorted with Tim @ RX Motors?
I believe its Brians own personal warrenty, coz he\'s a top notch top dollar chap.
see this thread. most dealers would wriggle.

Can you really take out warranties after buying a car? Seems odd, otherwise I may as well just waranty mine for as long as I own it so I dont have to pay for anything that goes wrong :D
Yes, that\'s the idea! And the only company I can find who will touch the Rex is, as I say, Warranty Works....
