Title: Knock Sensor
Post by: chrisJDM on December 30, 2006, 12:10:34 PM
I have a faulty knock sensor, keeps going off all the time even though its not knocking, i tried a replacement one that i got second hand and that is faulty aswell, is it worth me buying another second hand one??? i got a price from mazda for a new one £92, or would it be a good idea to get a aftermarket one??? What is available??  any ideas??

Cheers

have a look at your wiring first. I had this trouble on my MR2, and after taking it to a "specalist" is plymouth they came up with all sorts of crap like exhaust cam out by one touth etc. In the end i asked about and replaced the cable on the loom and hey presto, worked.

or perhaps try taking it to rxmotors. they have just about any part you could think of for a rex and should be able to diagnose the problem quite quickly
