Hello fellow rex owners... I have just had a new clutch fitted and every now and then the pedel will hit the deck and not come back up. Any Ideas?
Sounds like clutch master cylinder / slave cylinder.
Do a search on here looking for clutch problems and look for ways of checking.
Here is one example : http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20316&highlight=clutch+problem
All the best with it.
Sounds kinda silly, but first of all check it\'s not getting stuck on a bit of carpet as mine sometimes does.
do you have any mats in the car???? i had a set of mats in my red FD i had the same prblem so i took them out and no sticky pedle after that
i had the same problem, i thought it was carpet or sumink until it hit the floor and never came back up while i was in central London (Oh the joys), it turned out to b the clutch cable that snapped.

Hello and welcome to MRC,
First of all I would contact the person who fitted the clutch and tell them of your problem.
If your car is an FD ( 1992 on) then they may not have had the "snap ring" on the pressure plate connected to the release bearing properly and its come of of the pressure plate ( its a pull type clutch and not a conventional push clutch on FD\'s).
If they put it on a ramp they will be able to see this through the bellhousing inspection hole and if the release bearing is not attached they should be able to leaver the release bearing arm back into position, if that is OK they may not have bleed the clutch hydraulic system properly and its still got air in the system.
It deffo aint the mats, It only really does in 1st tryin to pull off or when your slowin up an goin down the gears.
I bought Rx7 from Pip at WGT, I\'m takin it back to him in the next couple of weeks after it\'s all back together. Just had a full paint job done.
There\'s also a couple of little running issues. like a bad banging from around by the diff everytime I changed gear, and it\'s runnin rich.
