I recently had to take my Down pipe off, i struggled realy bad until i decided to take the Engine mounts off and move the engine over in the bay.

If you do it this way Don\'t jack it up on the Sump, its only Tin and you can do some real Damage to it.

First Unplug the sencor in the Down pipe so you don\'t damage the wire, Then to get an OE dp off you have to take a little Tin heat sheald off (two ten mm bolts from memory) that can be a royal pain to get out/Back with the engine in situe this i found was the worsed bit, next you will see three of the four 14mm Nuts that hold the dp on you can get at these from the top quite easy, then get the car up in the air and from under the car you\'ll see the last one, once there all out there is the Mount and the Cat side of the pipe to undow and your away ;)

You may take the studs out with the Nuts its ok when its coming off but you need the studs in the Manifold to hold the Gasket in place when its going back.

Also i struggled getting the pipe out of the Hole but if you have moved the engine over it will come out easy.

Hey Alan..

 1. Well to start with.. remove all the Turbo pipes on top(in and outs).. these are fairly straight foward and requires only a 10 mm spanner and a 1/4" socket set with a long extensions..
 2. You must remove the outlet pipe from the rear turbo as this ones rather important to be out for working space..   You will need acess from under the car to get this one out..
Saying this, you will need to have a quick jack at the ready as you will need to be working under the car as well as above more or less together!

Once these Turbo feed and outlet pipes are off then it\'s pretty simple now..
Next best advise and to be honest I don\'t see how I done the first one without doing this as it makes it sooo much more easier for working room..
 3. Remove the Steering input rod... It\'s 2 bolts (12mm I think) and slide the Rod out, this will give you much needed room... (can\'t really muck it up as it\'s splined)
Before doing this, you will need to align the steering and rod and mark them(position), then lock the steering wheel so it doesn\'t move and also the wheels if possible.

 4. Next slacken the 2 bolts where the downpipe attaches to the center pipe, do not remove them yet, just slacken them as much as possible..
 5. Then finally you are ready to hit the \'downpipe\'...  this has 4 x nuts/bolts.   Oh, also remove the Oxy sensor, naturally!

Then the reverse is true for the install....

I may have missed something in-between, but thats the general idea! \'Good Luck!\' :Thumbs-up

Aweseome sounds easy enough, thanks lads I\'m sure I will have some questions when I acutally start doing it but now I feel happy about having a go.

Thanks
