Title: Fitting a SARD R2D2 Bov to FD3S
Post by: NurburgRob on December 26, 2006, 06:18:49 PM
Seasonal Greetings!

Santa got me a SARD R2D2 BOV which has made me happy.

I\'ve seen these for sale with specific fitting kits but the one I got came with a universal fitting kit.

Does anyone have a SARD R2D2 fitted to a FD3S?
Can you take a pic of its fitment please?

Does anyone know where I might be able to get the proper fitting kit?
or alternatively someone who could manufacture the fitting kit for me?

Thanks muchly!

Rob

The pipe to connect to on the stock twin setup is 19mm, and that looks to be about 19mm to me.  If so it should bolt straight in.

I will find some pics of my trust one in the stock position.  Give me half an hour..

Not the best pic

If you look at the bov it connects to a black rubber pipe.  In stock form this pipe runs to the air filter from the recirculating bov.  You need to remove the stock valve, blank off the air filter, and stick your one on there instead.  If it is too big, you need to find a bit of metal pipe 19 mm, you can connect this to the hose, then find a piece of silicone hosing to stretch over your SARD bov..

Prob doesn\'t make any sense give me a call if you want 07910366865

Thanks mate! my next question was going to be what is the diametre!!

I think one of these will do the trick, even looks like the SARD one :)

They do a Turbosmart one that is 19mm

Thanks again.

P.S. what difference does it make blocking off the pipe to the airbox rather than using a T-Piece?????

Thread resurection!

Just got round to fitting this BOV over the weekend to discover that the pipe is 19mm as we know, but the BOV is 30mm!

Now I need a reducer pipe and some hose to change the daimeter, or an alternative to solve the problem!!!

Any suggestions my learned friends???

I ain\'t selling it! always wanted the SARD BOV and I don\'t give up easy either!

OK, I\'ve picked up a copper pipe from B&Q, it\'s 22mm to 28mm, should do the job just fine :)

Now I need a small piece of Samco hose about 25-28mm in diametre and about 2 inches long? anyone?

anyone?

anyone got some lying around, an off cut maybe?

anyone?
