Hi people just wondering what actually is need to do a big single turbo conversion from stock twins?
I am not worried about doing the mechanical side of things, its getting everything set up to run i have got an apexi comander and controller ready to go onto the car, would i need to progam in a base map to get things running or would it all still work of the standard ecu settings that the stock twins would have been running?i know it would need setting up properly im just thinking about getting it started and to someone who knows what they are doing to set it up
Any recomendations on what size and make turbo to go for i would like to be doing track days in 2007 so a set up for that is priorty over road use.
and does anyone have anything for sale in relation to doing the whole twin to single setup?
parts id buy would be:
single turbo of course lol
uprated fuel pump
manifold
bigger injectors
bov
have you engine ported
power fc and commander
intercooler
remap
tink thats the basics bud..
I think tbh its cheaper to sell your car and buy a already converted single turbo rx7 then it would be to do the conversion yourself, but if you are doing most of the work then its worthwhile ?
:wiggle
Bigger Ali rad and water injection would be useful additions too :)

true but i think most rx7 owners now have the most part of the list above already/wanting done to improve reliabilty, fine a second hand turbo and manifold you cud probly change to a single for say 1k all in for a decent setup? :)

You need to buy EVERYTHING. :rollin
Seriously. You need to address all aspects of your car, not just the turbo.
You need to look at Fuelling, Cooling, Brakes (possibly)
In my case it it taking for bloody EVER and I feel I\'m still no closer to getting that single turbo in.
Done the cooling side of things with a new inter cooler and radiator, next up is the fuelling including a new secondary fuel rail, larger injectors, fuel pressure regulator and a new pump
Then its on to getting the turbo itself.
Hoping it will be ready for easter to go to the nurburgring. Hopefully.
