My RX7 is an Efini model or not?
What are the advantages/disadvantages if it is?
It has what I think is the efini badge on the back, but not on front (although front end is far from standard!)
Can anyone help?
Efini is the name given to all rx7 from japan (for some reason mazda used a custom name in japan rather than there standard mazda badge) so if your RX7 is from japan its an efini

Ok, now to ask another question about models.. the Type R model, how to I determine this? The previous owner of this car didn\'t know alot about it I\'m afraid!!

Efini was the \'sports\' brand for Mazda in Japan in the same way Lexus is the prestige (yeah right! :rollin ) brand for Toyota.
and the Eunos badge for the MX-5.
There is a thread somewhere which has a big list of all the RX-7 models and what they came with, that should help you find out exactly what you have :)
You should have a metal label inside the drivers door jam, down from the door catch that gives you all the info you need :)

This true, but only up to a certain year, after which they all had Mazda badge, even the Jap ones. I dont know the exact year, though.
