Title: Car is dead - no ignition lights etc
Post by: Gateeast on December 20, 2006, 06:51:20 PM
Please help.  Just collected my car from the docks and it was running fine.  When I returned home to take it off the trailer is was dead. Nothing at all  - no lights, fuel puimp or anything.

It has an Apexi controller and turbo timer.

Any ideas?

sounds like the battery is dead. i\'ve just changed mine today the plates were warped and it wouldn\'t hold any charge. I\'ve put the new one in and wired in a solar trickle charger on the parcel shelf to help that little bit.

P.S when my battery was knackered the car was still the same when i tried jump starting it from the desil beast (is got a battery from a truck in it lol), it wouldn\'t fire or even turn over. hope this helps :wave

Sounds like a good bit of kit, where would I get one of these?

Thanks LeedsLad and all.

What about fuses in drivers footwell?
Do you have a workshop manual?
If not give me a shout only in Telford.

Not an alarm.  Haven\'t checked footwell yet, apparently there is a 15amp fuse for the engine from what I have read - would this kill the whole car?

my ignition lights did come on but only just and they dimmed so they were not visable when the brakes were pressed (the car had been left for 19 days and it\'s got a cobra alarm if that helps).

and i got the solar panel from here (http://www.selectsolar.co.uk/gadget.php), it just stops battery draining fully if im not driving it for a couple of weeks.

Does it just pull out and where would I get a replacement from? (120 amp fuse that is)

It doesn\'t pull out, If you look at it from above then you will see the cable runs into it from either side you need to slacked the bolts of either side then it will lift out.
