Title: Adrian Flux WTF
Post by: Laeeq on December 19, 2006, 01:45:44 PM
I am not having a best day of all today with Adrian Flux in particular....:2Mad

I\'ve moved to a new house this weekend and it has a garage.  I phoned the Flux to tell them the new address and ask for any discount if there is as i will be parking the car inside the garage overnight rather then on the street.

I was very promptly told that there is NO discount available so then i asked what if i cancel the policy because i know there are companies out there who can quote me cheaper insurance and got told that i can\'t cancel and if i do then will have to pay them extra to do so...:2Mad and even if i sell the car then the same....now i know i made a mistake by spreading the payment over 12 months, rather then pay in one go but surely there is a way i can cancel the policy without paying extra?????

They usually spread the payments via a finance company (so they get all their cash up front) and that\'s often why they rip you for more than the period you\'ve used.  Pretty sucky though.

If it costs you an extra month then the saving with a cheaper insurer might be worth it though...

I had the same thing, Adrian Flux wouldn\'t insure me on an import for business use and I was mid contract on my old car on their finance so I had to pay to leave them.

Best thing I ever did.

A-Plan give better service and much better value. I pay less now on my modified jap import supercar :Santa than I used to on my Peugeot 406 Coupe with Adrian Flux..and their service sucked. I was with Adrian Flux for eight years until I finally got fed up with their charging me for every little change, sitting in the queue on the phone whilst they "experienced high call volumes" and made me fill in a modification form every renewal. I wouldn\'t recommend them to my worst enemy

A-Plan simply know their policies better, you ask them a question like "how much more will I pay for a bodykit" and they give you the answer. Insurance how it should be...

Adrian Flux seconded here ... there are very few things that have made me swear at someone I don\'t know down the phone (and I appologised afterwards) ... Adrian Flux was one of them.

They managed to renew my insurance all on their own with no instructions from me (when I didn\'t want them to) then refused to let me cancel without paying the full amount for a year, then messed me about numerous times over a mileage dec form and cancelled my insurance. I then had to take out another policy with the same company so that they would be kind enough refund me the other amount. The annoying thing this is on a car that I\'ve not used in 2years or so ... the reason I\'d not cancelled is as above ! "need to pay up in full to cancel!" and they won\'t suspend a limited mileage policy.  NEVER AGAIN

i cant fault a-plan, i was with adrian flux on an FTO and told them when i took out the policy that iwas going to get an rx7 they said no problem for insurance, so the day came to change cars and they said NO! i managed to cancel my policy but they wouldnt pay up for 3 months!

now im with a-plan i really cant fault them, i have my single turbo insured with then and recently bought a second fd and they simply mirrored my NCB top people!

I had trouble with these as well - lucky for me Norwich Union forgot to cancel my old policy !

I threatened them with court action and finally got my deposit back.

They tried to tell me that all covertibles were imports - when I read him the VIN off the registration document the pimply chav had to admit that I was correct.

I would avoid them.  I will go with Sky once I have the the car back and need to put my mods on it.
