That looks awesome.  What do you use to wash your car with.  I\'ve used nothing but Poorboys products and have to say they are better than anything I\'ve ever used.

Good lad you got the filters fitted ok ??  Glad they seem to have made a difference !

Defo get an Apexi PFC if you haven\'t already got one.  That should be your next mod, before anything else.  The car will possibly run lean if you don\'t check the fueling, and they tend to go pop quite quickly if they run lean!

the car made very good freinds with a brick wall yesterday afternoon, and is now on its journy to the scrap yard :(

i may buy it back from the insurers to break, as the engine is a fresh rebuild.

front, side and rear damage, rear end totaled, twisted the front strut, stinks of fuel, doesnt drive in a straightline anymore.

about 300 yards to the left of the above picture is a 45 degree bend coming into my village, i was doing about 20-25 in 3rd as its a 20 zone, and all of a sudden i was climbing out of the car. had to push it out of the wall.

called the insurers who imediatly wrote it off, without even coming to inspect the car, they asked for a full description of the damage and said because of the car type & the year its impossible to get parts for them because they have to repair on a new basis. so its off to salvage today with the option to buy it back.

the engine has just been rebuilt so its looking like a good option to buy it back and strip for parts.

ill get some pics of the damage today when i go to mates unit to have a last look

What a shame mate, sorry to hear about your car...the option above is a good one, plant this engine and sell the rest...

there is no such thing as off boost on stock twins, it comes in so quick, singles are much safer to drive in the wet.

Sorry to see this, looked great in the pics, nice and stock.

All i can say mate that i am so so sorry to see that ....and know exactly what you are going through...been through that twice and its not nice feelings.::( chin up and try to get her back and if you still wana stay with fd then buy a blown engine one for cheap and drop the rebuilt engine in and sell the other parts to partly cover the cost.

I know either way its gonna cost, but you will get some money back by selling parts.  Thats what i did and not once but twice.....:3Confused :(

I hope the 07 brings more luck for everyone..:Thumbsup!

Good idea to keep the engine Roy.

As Laeeq says, keep your chin up and look forward to a bright 2007.

I did this in my fist turbo car (mistsi starion) although mine was the result of rather more enthusiatic driving shall we say.  NEVER AGAIN !!

Gutted to hear that mate!! If you\'re looking for a shell i\'d suggest talking to the dealers above, for example i know that on Dragon\'s website Ross says he can get hold of project cars and suchlike.

If you get a buy back option I\'d be interested in the rear window.

Just wondering which car is safer in this weather, the Rex or the TVR !!

Roy,

Sounds like a great excuse to have a track car!

Most of the bits that are broken can either be fixed or not needed, and the other bits are stripped out and sold...would pay for most of the conversion!
Title: Some nice pictures
Post by: Roy on December 24, 2006, 06:46:39 PM
would need to be jigged though, chassis is a mess at front
Title: Some nice pictures
Post by: AtomicRex on December 26, 2006, 12:33:05 PM
its not too bad getting the car jigged  Just time consuming!

And if you are getting the car caged then no need to worry about the structure of other parts....get it stripped out and seem welded...be strong as an ox once the cage has been put in!

Mine was involved in a crash once its life.....and I\'m sure within the environment its in now it wont be long before it has another ;)

Same with mine but the repair was botched, which reminds me, anyone know of a competent Jig facility in the South West?

I think any half decent body shop will do a good job....its just making sure they dont rush it!

If you both got together Im sure they would do a deal

Like i say roy give me a shout if ya gonna break it and im sure i can make your pocket a little happyer, also give ya a hand at pulling some parts for shipping.
If ya gonna repair it let me know again as i know a guy with resonable rates and a jig who could take a look at it for ya.

Makes it easyer owning one of these cars when ya in the trade.

It\'ll be good if you land on your feet with both the wreckage & some dosh from the insurance.

Its fun getting the back end out on those slippy roads but you have to be careful! I\'m getting wheelspin in every gear and tend to get a bit sideways accelerating in the fast lane, that central reservation gets a little too close for comfort!

Sorry to hear about the car too, it looks repairable but I can only see the cosmetic stuff.
