heya,
I`m wondering which coolant people use? any particular brand/make etc, and where to get it from? as I think I read somewhere that rexy`s like green coolant...but the only coolant ive found is blue or red?..is the colour actually relevant..does it mean something?
I know the red coolant shouldnt be used for some reason..just not sure why :Santa
Ive wondered this too all I know is i need lots of bottles of distilled water too.
I just use Halford Blue coolant that is Alli friendly. With Distilled water mix.
The red stuff as far as I\'m aware is fine if flushing the whole system but you can\'t mix it for some reason.
The blue stuff you can mix to your required concentration and can top up when required.
Do search on here there are a few threads on it.

Evans NPG+ waterless coolant is probably the best stuff you can put in a rotary, but you\'ve gotta thoroughly flush the system with EG before you use it. It\'s expensive, but you never need to change it and you can run the coolant system at low or atmospheric pressure.

Please excuse my ignorance.......Whats EG ??
I\'m running my car with 4 litres of ani freeze in.... so that is prety much neet!! The Comma blue is fine for the alluminium engine blocks and it costs about £14 from any decent motor factors!!

Sorry, Ethylene Glycol...basically pure antifreeze. Evans suggest you flush with Evans sierra, but it\'s probably just as hard to come by as NPG+. Any EG based antifreeze would probably do it, it\'s just to remove any water that may be left in the system.
I\'ve got a red coolant in mine from halfords, its normally fine as long as you don\'t mix colours and its suitable for an ally block.

Remember water has a better heat transfer that coolant, so you may want to dilute to 30%, can\'t see us ever needing more than that! Stop it freezing and stop any corrossion.
so where do i get green coolant from? as thats whats in my car at the moment?
The colour does not matter as long as you make sure it is an EG based coolant. Halfrauds do a 1, 2 and 5ltr bottle ou can use (its the blue one if you wanted to know!)
