Title: Injectors & Fuel rails
Post by: nicksterrx7 on December 12, 2006, 09:34:18 PM
My engine has expired (just as I got the car how I wanted it) and a rebuild is on the cards can I ask:

What size are stock primary Injectors?
What size are stock secondary injectors?

As a part of the rebuild I\'d like to improve my fueling (I\'ve an Apexi, bigger intercooler SMIC, Twin Turbos (and I want to stay with them), big down pipe, ported and straight through exhaust etc.)

I am considering bigger injectors (which - consider I am not going to ever run more than 330bhp on the road).  I assume a fuel rail to match.  Suggestions please.  Do I need a fuel pressure guage?  What\'s it for?  I\'m not fully up to speed with the technical intricacies of the some mods.

You have 550cc prims and 850 seconds

A cheap option is to get a second set of 850s and put them in the prims,  get a better pump and away you go.

The other wasy is to leave the prims, buy an aftermarket fuel rail and 1600 injectors, a better pump and Fuel Pres reg but its more expensive,  this will see you through 400 rwhp.

You wont need a guage but its useful, the tuner will set up the fuel pressure and you should then leave it be

I think the best option, but more expensive is to go for the 1600 secondary injectors.

Avoid 1300 secondary injectors.  Some have had problems of dieing at high revs and killing engines (me included :() - although I dont know if this is relates to a certain brand
