Well the MOT is due next week and I dont have time to fix the wheel bearing and exhaust so i thought i\'d let Pip sort it out for me.
Well I also thought (since it\'s christmas) let\'s treat it to a health check, coolant flush, laser alignment, 1600 injectors, larger fuel pump, CAT replacement, get rid of the air pump and give it a session on the rollers :)
Dropped it off Saturday, picking it up next Saturday, it was putting out 242ATW lets see what it has this time next week :cool
And fingers crossed he doesn\'t find anything bad :S
so you wont be making the meet tonight then :(
will be interesting what you get it back :D
does it have the apexi ecu fitted already ?
Bugger I forgot about it AGAIN!!!!!
Indeed it does have APEXi FC and Commander :) ...
Spec will read a little something like this...
APEXi FC & Commander
HKS Racing Suction Kit
99 Spec Turbos
Large SMIC with hard pipes
Secondary Rail running 1600cc injectors
DECAT
Blitz NUR Spec
Think that\'s it engine wise, not doing anything else till I go single...
mine made 285 rwhp with the same spec as yours with a street port at 11psi on twins down at pips 1300 secondarys, yours should be somewhere near if your motor has decent compresion
My 94 Type R should be arriving back from WGT this very afternoon after a rebuild. Only had the car for a month when it let go, but having covered 56K I was prepared for it. It was going great guns a minute before she threw a tip and not so great after !. I also got a £25 cheque from the breakdown company in compensation as they took 2.5 hours to come and pick it up....small bonus !
However, looks like a mainly dry week here in Bucks so may get a chance to put a bit dent in the run in mileage.
I think the only thing that Pip didn\'t change was the dipstick so might need to do a bit of carol singing this Christmas ........beware !!!
Bob
I guess if you gotta break the motor appart may aswell do it right :)
What\'s it look like? I dropped mine off so probably saw it...

Lowered 94 Type R in original silver with RX8 alloys.
Yeh totally agree. No I\'ve no complaints re the costs, I got what I paid for.
The only downside is having to drive like a hairdresser for 1000miles to run her in.:Yawn
Bob
It takes a strong will to resist the need for speed, especially when it\'s just cost so much ;)
I miss mine SO MUCH and I only dropped it off on Saturday!
Think i remember it, there was a very tidy silver one there, that might have been it...

Yeh Thanks. Really pleased with it. Bought it off Ebay:Hammer ....£4K delivered, and its very original apart from ( well curbed ) RX8 alloys and lowered. It\'s unmarked inside and out. Sold my 80 Corvette, did some homework before purchase, so throwing the tip was not a huge surprise ( 56K ).
Not had time to go over it yet but Pip\'s done a good job. Long list of bits including AST, clutch, water pump and solenoids, injector clean and general tune up.
Bought a New RX8 in August so I\'ve now got a great pair of rotary motors....LOVE IT ! :cool

Pip is a god! I need to go see him after x-mas for my remap. :3gears-lh
Only 230 miles left on mine - best bit (or worst bit) is its 210 miles to Pips :p
Yeah, he\'s doing allsorts for me too, just hope the compression test comes up good :)
If not I suppose it\'s a good excuse for a street port ;)
No seriously though I\'m preying for good news!
Oh dear.............
Got it on the rollers today and long story short the little bugger will not make more than 0.8bar boost. Pip\'s already fixed a leaking boost solenoid pipe but apparently the problems lie with the wastegate (possibly being cracked) :(
He\'s pulling the turbos tomorrow so should know more then...
Fingers are still crossed :S
Best of luck with it!
Oh ********! Turbos are knackered so I might HAVE to go single!
The compressor wheel has been rubbing on the housing and the wastegate is cracked and there\'s a whole load of play in them both... So it\'s about £850 to overhaul that or it\'s time to go single...
I\'m awaiting a call from the insurance company........... :(
:( Sorry to hear that bud!
Would much more work be required to set the car up ready for a single turbo?? e.g. Injectors, rad, intercooler etc
Go single, no doubt !!
WAY ahead of you....
It\'s now having a T04 strapped to it :D
£300 extra on the insurance and the bill at WGT is mounting up big time! But there\'s been a hell of a lot done and at the end of the day i\'ll have a single turbo :D
Sweet!
What else are you having done to it? Plenty of porting I hope :D
Couldn\'t go into much detail earlier as i was at work...
Like I said the twins are a bit of a mess so it was looking like an overhaul of upwards of £850. Now I know there are twin packs out there for £2-300 but then I\'d have to add the expense of having them fitted etc so was none too keen on spending over a grand to get back to used stock twins...
Then Pip mentions a used single turbo kit he knew of with a VERY recently overhauled T04e for around the same sort of money... A swift phonecall to the insurance (Sky Insurance - Great guys) and they agreed an increase of £300 which i don\'t think is that bad (I\'m 24).
Really can\'t stress how helpful Pip\'s been.
As for the other work i\'m having done, most of it was pretty boring stuff like bushes etc.
Can\'t wait to get it back now though!
Unfortunately I hadn\'t really planned on spending as much as i have (it\'ll be around twice as much) but then i didn\'t plan on going single! Which REALLY takes the sting out of putting it on the plastic ;)
Can\'t wait!
FMIC and Alloy rad too now ;)
Glad to see your taking this all in your stride bud, i would be bloody annoyed. Hope its back on the road soon.:3gears-lh
Well I was bloody annoyed, but it\'s all stuff I was going to do anyway, just sooner than i planned it :)
She\'ll run very nice now :D
Shaun

That\'s exactly how I felt. Bought the car wth 56K miles showing knowing that a rebuild was going to be sooner rather than later. The rebuild then came much sooner than sooner was supposed to be !
However now that the rebuild is done and the bank balanced has been mauled all is forgiven. I\'m now just enjoying the car ....well up to 4000 rpm anyway:Giggle
Bob
All I can say is :D :D :D :D :D

Taking it easy with the boost (can\'t afford to break anything for a while) but it still made 384.9FWHP and 325.5RWHP.
Just took it out for a PROPER go :evillaugh love the wastegate chatter :Talking1 and the exhaust set my mums car alarm off when i parked on the drive :2eek
ASBO anyone?
Lovely, can\'t wait to see it in the flesh at the next meet :D
Am i going to be one of the last on the stock twins !!!
Shaun
another great job done by pip. its look really good.
Well you\'re hardly lagging behind in terms of power Shaun! Is the next meet on the 8th? If it is I won\'t be able to make it as I\'m in New York with the missus, oh the credit card people are gonna love me!
It will be the 8th ! Blimey, new york :D
The only thing i would say as next update is to fit a greddy elbow on the intake and get rid of the 2 bends after the intercooler, will help the flow better ! Looking grand though.
Plus your making power easy, i only see 300bhp on pips dyno ATW. Would seriously love to go single turbo like a GT35r :D One day i\'ll get my finger out !
Shaun
Yeah I\'m certainly living above my means this month :Hammer :Hammer :Hammer
Greddy Elbow is on the list, it\'ll have to wait till i pay this lot off the card first though ;)
I know what you mean, my 1st gen has cost me quite a bit !!!
Shaun
sorry to but in but wot make of intercooler is that because am about to order one soon
Quote from: bobertanother great job done by pip. its look really good.
Good job yes but hate to think what the bill was !!!! :2Confused
Quote from: barry798sorry to but in but wot make of intercooler is that because am about to order one soon
Most likely one made by or under license (to their design and spec) of WGT.
Shaun
thanks shaun do you no when wgt are open next think ill go for one of them dont like the intercooler right at the front incase of accidents
Would have thought in new year, I\'d give them a ring and ask about it.
Shaun
I\'m not sure either bud, it is rather nice though :)
will do thanks
