Title: Spare Pipe
Post by: FTORich on December 07, 2006, 06:30:59 PM
I have 5 pipes feeding into my current air intake, two intakes, two dump valves, and another pipe coming from under the plenum? Is it an oil breather line?

Have you got any pics mate, do you have your air pump still, that is usually joined into the intake.

I know the pipe your on about mate..... something to do with the air pump side of things I think!!

Air box pipes:

2 Turbo inlets
1 BOV / Dump Valve
1 Charge relief valve (for 2nd turbo spool up)
1 Air pump feed
1 Pipe coming from under the plenum (bulkhead side!) This is the one in question!!!

That\'s the puppy, will have to take pictures in the morning, yes i do still have the air pump.

Problem is the HKS only has one spare intake each, so need to know which can exit to air and spare tube sounds like it\'s blowing.

Well if you plumb that tube in you have a couple of options, either vent the standard dump valve to atmosphere, or vent the pipe connected to your air pump to atmos, but you would require a small filter for this (like the ones you can get from halfrauds.)

That\'s the return from your Air Control Valve, it vents on the overrun. Probably best to have it plumbed in but it\'s not essential.

Thanks for that, which one needs a filter? Surely they\'re both blowers not suckers?

The metal elbow on the top of the air pump is the air intake, this needs to be filtered. If you don\'t plumb it into your HKS intakes, get a mini K&N filter and attach it to the elbow on the air pump.
