Title: Fuel cut out
Post by: Gman on December 10, 2003, 08:24:38 PM
As some of you know from my other post i am over boosting when i floor it to 1/1.5 bar, when this happens i think a fuel limiter kicks in and kills the power.  I am running a Apexi PowerFC but the hand controller is not working.  What i\'m asking is with a Power FC shouldnt the car be able to boost a bit higher than normal without any problems?

1.5 sounds pretty extreme either way & (i no nothing so all guess work! (http://mindscraps.com/s/contrib/blackeye/Leek.gif)) but fuel cut is a different kettle o fish to boost limit but either way sounds a tad OTT without some upgrades/mods (http://www.computerpannen.com/cwm/contrib/ed/wink2.gif)

When you say overboosting do you actually mean that you have say .8 bar progammed on the ecu and it\'s boosting more or is it set for 1.5 bar ?
I doubt a stock fuel system could handle that is it upgraded?
Is it definitely fuel cut? what other mods do you have?

the hand controller is only showing the Apexi logo so I am hoping to see Ant about it soon, but this means i cant check anything.

i have a knightsport (i think thats what it says) fuel somthing box next to the ecu so it looks to be aftermarket.

I am guessing its fuel cut off but i am a beginner so i am thinking logically.

Apart from the ECU i have a HKS hard pipe kit and a Free flow aftermarket exhaust.  The turbos are standard as far as i know but again i\'m not an expert so i could have other things but i doubt it as the import company didnt list anymore.

Sorry to hear about your boost problems! Where you taking your FD for a checkup? The plastic tray under your air intakes is a heat shield from what I can gather, as the FD\'s generate alot of heat under the bonnet this helps to stop the intakes sucking up the warm air from the engine.
See you round sometime.

Cheers
