Title: Stupid fuel
Post by: Ricco_04 on December 05, 2006, 04:45:02 PM
Hi all,

Almost got all the part\'s I need for my remap.  Going to be using 850ccx4 injectors.  Will I need to uprate my fuel pump and/or my fuel pressure regulator.

I will not be changing my base line pressure (well not unless there are other benefits - I shouldnt be hitting 85% duty anyway.) I have been told that aftermarket FPR\'s can react quicker than OE ones giving better throttle response what other benefits are there if any?

Thank you! :)

I would imagine someone does, or at least has done!!!

Can\'t see why you\'d need to up the pressure on the reg (sidies don\'t take to big increases that well) and the 850\'s in the primaries would then be making it hard to idle.

Pump should flow 210lph, so depends on how much fuel are you planning on using and boost you need to fuel for.

Cheers for that :)

I have no idea what demand I will be putting on the pump :2Confused  but I guess it is probably better to change in that case? (as well as having a new item)

I have been offored Bosch 040 / Bosch 044 and I have also been considering the Apexi pump.

I had probably best speak to Pip as he will do my mapping.

Thanks for your help! :)

Sounds like the best way forward mate, Pip will know what to spec for your exact setup and needs.

Best of luck with it
