Title: Battery relocation
Post by: 93type-x on December 04, 2006, 07:20:19 PM
I had my battery in the boot in my last rex no problem just with a fat amp power type cable, but I was told to put a big fuse near the battery to save the car in event of surge etc. since then it blows the fuse every start up, now I´ve got a short cut in place... is it safe to have just the cable or do I need the fuse????

You need a fuse or you could really damage your battery if the cable shorts. There is enough power to weld the cable to the body and the battery to explode !!!!! Best bet is to buy a circuit breaker that is about 125amps
