Title: Problem with Filler neck \'top\'
Post by: nikp on December 01, 2006, 08:53:49 PM
I am in the process of removing the standard coolant neck top with one from a FC RX7 so that I can eliminate the AST (The overflow outlet will come from this item now). However, it\'s slightly banana shaped, and leaks coolant, so needs to be straightened. It\'s plastic with metal inserts in it.

I have tried a metal file, which is working but is taking ages. Also tried paper gasket and blue hylomar, but none of these cancel out the effect of the slight curve. I was thinking about stick it against a belt sander to flatten it, or maybe make a rubber gasket (But not sure where to get some rubber from to make a gasket).

Does anyone have any suggestions?
