Just found out it is true. :(
there was a thread about this not long ago, sounds like the actual ASIC (the Integrated Circuits) used in the PFC are being phased out by the chip supplier (NEC I think it is) so the PFC will need to be completly redesigned with a new ASIC in place.
dont worry guys I have bought a couple as spares or to sell before the price goes up with its replacement
Was going to wait till next year to order one, but i\'ve just ordered one from nengun. £385 PFC+commander delivered. Hope I dont get stung for customs! :?
You maybe lucky but it depends who handles the delivery in this country, if its Parcel Force then you have to pay 10 percent import duty plus VAT plus an admin charge before they realise it from their depot, if its DHL they will deliver it to you then send a customs invoice later
£385 is still a decent price :)
You can pay an extra 1000yen and have them repack it before it\'s delivered. Which is what i\'ve done, so fingers crossed!
EDIT: They\'ve just emailed saying estimated delivery date is 12th December. Not bad.
Lets hope customs dont open it up as they will be busy with the Christmas international post

Reading about this some more, there is mixed opinion on what is actually happening. It appears that some of them are being discontinued and some arent??
The 3S-GTE MR-2 has been discontinued now. (Haha)
It doesnt actually say anything about the RX7 being stopped??.... Also found out that the 96-> Power FC is just a AP engineering version of the 91-95 PowerFC.... Dont know wether thats true or not??

Did anyone pay for or buy anything from nengun with a credit card? If so then how do you make the payment in yen? Does it do it automatically? There is no way im using paypal, at least i have some sort of insurance on the credit card.
Just recived mine from japan in 5 working days, thats so fast and for a snitch at £422 deliverd with no duties.
BTW its the new version FD3S4 with the richer base map so am happy :)

I paid for mine with credit card too. It\'s wierd cause it takes you to the paypal site but you dont need to have an account just enter credit card details and it\'s paid to nengun via paypal for a small charge. :Typing

I spent 18 months with the stock ECU with HKS F-CON+GCC piggyback and go the car running gr8 with only the odd hickup and fart along the way, never really got rid of the 3k hessitation.
I was happy with the way it was running, then seen as the PFC may be comming to an end i thought it better be time i perchased one before the did.
Installed it last week and WOOOOW what a difference it made.
Its like a new car runs fast, smooth with no hickups or hessitation probs, also runs verry strong ie. lowspeed trafic is easy now without the car hessitating.
If you dont have 1 then my advice is Get One, you wont belive the difference.
Thats all on the base map with no tuning, AFR are in the safe zone as well, messured with my LM-1 wideband.
according to rx7club.com its only the fc3s model and older type cars the fd3s model is set to continue for moment so dont all panic

Yeah thats right, plus they\'ve phased out the FD3S 96>. But no plans to do the more common 91-95 yet.:Santa
