I am sure you will be fine with BP ultimate, isnt it the same rating as V Power? Also I wouldnt think there would be any problem running a higher octane fuel, someone can correct me if I am wrong though.

I\'m running on Sainsbury\'s super unleaded. When it was mapped on saturday, I got no higher knock than 31. So, i think it\'s fair to say supermarket super unleaded is fine. (Supermarkets don\'t run crappy quality fuels anymore - there\'s an article somewhere about it)

No comment on particular brands etc. (except that we RX8 owners don\'t beleive there\'s any benefit on high-octane fuel, other than emptying you wallet quicker ;-) )...

Have you tried //www.petrolprices.com - it\'ll tell you the cheapest / nearest statiosn to a postcode for a particular fuel type, and you can get the list emailed on a regular basis :)

RX8 and RX7 owners who UK cars have nothing to worry about.

I find that Tesco99 is the best fuel all round for my Rex, and the fuel at supermarkets is just as good as anywhere else.

one of the tuning magazines ran an article recently, tested an EVO on a rolling road with various grades....all the ultimate/premium grades gave significant power increases over regular super. Tesco 99 came out well.

rx8 owners wouldn\'t notice a huge difference with various grades...rx7 turbo engines will be more sensitive (higher cylinder pressures) to octane rating.
