Title: Relieving fuel pressure?
Post by: probedb on November 18, 2006, 12:27:12 PM
How\'d ya do this then?

I\'m used to having to pull a fuse (dunno which one on an FD) and then trying to start the car several times until it won\'t.

But read in the bit about replacing the fuel filter that you just open the fuel filler cap?

Which is it? Car is going to get emptied of oil and fluids so need to do this before this happens :)

Cheers :Thumbs-up

I don\'t know if this is the dun thing on a rotary but i unplug the fuel pump whilst its running on Idle, as long as it has no load on it will just cut out.

I do this mainly when i do a rebuild becouse you don\'t have loads of fuel in the Pipes.

Also draining the water i pull the plug out of the plate (just above the Sump) and it drops the water out of the Motor its self, before i\'ve just pulled pipes off and when its lifted out half a litre of water pours out of the engine.

On the FC you can just unplug the EGI fuse when the engine is running - that empties the fuel lines, allthough there is still a slight pressure on the lines - so use a rag if pulling any pipes !

Does\'nt the EGI cut other stuff to like the ECU? or do you mean it drops enough??
