Any ever used ceramic paint on items that produce alot of heat? read an article onit and it reduces the heat thats given off but dosnt make the item painted any hotter on the inside if u get my meanin lol..
Theres also a guy selling a ceramic painted plenum on rx7club that swares by it..

The heat has to go somewhere (it\'s just physics after all) so it either stays in the object being painted or it\'s given off more readily by the painted object. I think it\'s more likely to be retained.
thats what id have thought to, as it acks like a non heat transfer coating.. hmm lol
Probably works if you put it on the inside (eg of an exhaust) by keeping the heat in the exhaust gas and out of the manifold.
I\'ve heard of Ceramic Coatings before working well on Exhausts and things that get realy hot but not come across paint??
I was at a subaru specialists today with a mate. And they have designed a special ceramic coated manifold. And they said that it spools the turbo up quicker.
Must be a good thing:Thumbs-up
I\'m intrested now, Whats the diffrence between Ceramic such as Apex seals,Ceramic such as Turbo componants, Ceramic Coating (or hot coating as they call is in the US of A) and Paint Ceramic?
Are they all diffrent things? I\'ve had Down pipes and stuff like that Ceramic Coated before now and it does lowwer the Under bonnet temps but that cost quite alot to have done and i am intrested to know if this paint can give the same effects?
Just found this link.

Thats what i thought Shaun. May well be intrested in some myself for the latest round of mods as its manifold building time again and the turbox looks like it could be the dogs danglies for what i have in mind.

Think i`ll be investing in some of this :) Would this only be suitable for exhaust systems? i.e paint the engine with it, would this not increase the overall internal temps tho?
might have to phone them n ask a few questions lol, wanna paint my engine anyways so this would kill 2 birds with 1 stone :wave
think you have to send the stuff to them....don\'t think they sell stuff to paint on!!
O poo! .
check out http://www.ceramicrotaryengines.com. Shares will become available next year.
The paint is a nice idea, but you\'ve got to get quite a thick coat on to have a noticeable effect.

The stuff there selling is the paint you spray it on yourself.
Kevin:WaveBye
Got some of the turbo x in blue from Camcoat so i\'ll see what its like in a month or so.

Ceramics are generally very good insulators of both heat and electicity. The tiles they use on the shuttle are a kind of ceramic foam, you can place one in a furnace till it\'s white hot, then take it out and within seconds pick the still glowing brick up with your bare hands. It will basically keep the heat on the inside.
