Hi all, I have been talking to a few people about removing the clutch bearing fork and using the type that has the bearing and realease unit in a one.
Newer types of car use them I know but I am sure that there is a name for these things????? I am wanting to use one for an egi box so I figure that if I can find one from another car as long as the inner diameter of the brearings are the same?
someone tell me if any of the above has made sense? cheers michael.:Typing :Thumbs-up
Do you mean thrust bearing????????Thats another name for clutch release bearing.
Yep I think you are right. I am looking for the type that doesnt use a fork to activate it but is a self contained unit with a hydraulic line going into the bellhousing to it.
cheers,michael.
Here\'s a photo for Michael
Not sure what they are called ... inline slave cylinder ?
i know Saab\'s use them
Cheers mike! Yep this is basically what I want to use on an egi box. Anyone even seen or heard of this before?
On an Rx7 no mate, dont know if any of the other manufacturers ones will fit???????
Just fitted an aftermarket one to an Evo 5.Will find out the make and post it up here.Lovely bit of kit, came with a £2k clutch!!!!!!!
Yeah cool, if you do have any photos that would be great! was it hard to fit and £2k clutch!!!! geez, slightly different budget there :)
thanks again. michael.
Easy fit, was a straight bolt in replacement.Had to drill a hole in the bellhousing for the hydraulic lines, that was the hardest bit!!!!!!!!!!!
old of a company who custom make these to suit the individual application but thought it cost a bit over £200 which is why I have splashed out on an e-bay one from a diesel transit to seee if it is the kind of thing I am looking for.
Can you tell me the company who supplied the thrust bearing for your evo?
thanks, michael.
Wasnt my car mate so need to check with the owner, cant remember the make?
Will get back to you.
It was a complete carbon/carbon clutch kit from TILTON.
Just checked their website and they do not list anything for mazda rx7.
