Hi guys looking for an exhaust a full cat back.. what difference does the sizes make? is it more noise/power ect the bigger u go? or less back pressure with bigger pipes lol i really not to clued up on this.. whats the best setup for say a extended ported engine with slight overlap, dont wanna loose to much low down power, but want a nice brapbrapp rumble that makes the ground shake :flamed
got a 80mm straight through system, and its offencivly loud and spits flames when i back off, not sure what power gains i get but its really nice got a good burble from idle too sounds nice (not to my neighbers)think back box is 5 .5 inches have not measured it though its a trust system fitted in japan
I\'ve got a 5Zigen system and that sounds sweeeeet!!! alot deeper tone than the HKS ones!!!! If your keeping your cat then there is no need to go for a monster pipe, as it\'s the cat that does 90% of the restricting in the exhaust!!!! so you would probably be OK with a 70mm / 3" pipe work!!!
Jono
want to remove the cat as im removing the acv and air pumpy.. can get hold of a new hks decat for about 100 notes, sure it was 75mm
A word of warning , if you put a non silenced mid pipe on it will be loud , and if the engines ported it gets louder , well thats how it happened on mine
I\'m thinking I\'m going to have to put a silenced mid pipe on coz even though I\'m sticking under 4K due to running in it gets deffening on the motorway , had to go and buy some ear defenders for my son yesterday coz I was getting really worried about it hurting his ears
got some great looks of people when they saw a 2 year old in the front of an rx with ear defenders on :D
lol thats pricless hehe, any sound recordings off yours bud out side the car :D hate loud exhaust in small naff cars lol.. want more the ground shake rumble lol
If I remember I\'ll record it next time I take it out , its not too bad outside , it just sounds loud , inside on the motorway is not much fun , normally I just turn the stereo up to break it up a bit
What I\'m concerned about is once its run in and I can take it all the way through the rev range
