Title: same problem
Post by: Eddie on November 06, 2006, 09:05:18 PM
Hi Andy I am haveing the same problem, mine stopped working whilst the car was stood for a while, and I did a lot of mods in that time, fmic and apexi stuff like that, mine works now and again but its for frustrating.
The hazardsw roks but nothing else on mine.

I have been looking for a replacment heater control but not got one yet that fits my car, I did however buy one of ebay but when I got it I found out the connecters on the back are differnt from mine, heres a pic of the unit I have, my car is a 92 type X and this heater pic must be a later model heater control, your more than welcome to try it if its the same as your, if it works then you can buy it from me, if it doesn\'t then just return it and I will get it back on ebay.

I hope this may be your answer as then it mite be mine:) and I just need to find a unit.
I have read that the circuit board get dry conections or something.

If I found out anything else then I will let you know

Cheers

I have just changed the Switch for this problem in a Mates car, When you turned the fan on there was nothing at all, I guess the Conctions in the switch must go becouse i swaped some bits of my car and that got it going.

So have the controls apart and pluged in, tried near the glove nothing loose.
I then started to scrape a screw driver over the circuit board of the controls out of despration, and it booted into life.
Turned car off and back on and nothing again form the controls.
localised my scraping on the circuit board of the contols to the chip, if I touch the bottom legs of the chips on the left hand side the thing come alive and it boots up every time I do it. full control, when looking close at the chip you can see brownish area.

May help.

Cheers

I have spent the last hour soldering all the connection on the circuit board and its alive, works every time now, must have been loose/dry connections, I am well chuffed its not nice not having fan or AC controls, maybe worth your while checking you board to make sure it not a similar poroblem.

My heater panel stopped working the other day , nothing worked and none of the dials none of the buttons nowt , I\'de had the stereo out the day before so I pulled it back out to check all the plugs at the back , still nowt so I tried the fuse box under the dash even though nothing is indicated for the dash

Well when I pulled the cover off I remembered I\'d taken out the fuse for the rear wiper coz I\'ve removed it anyway popped it back in and everything worked again , its the bottom left one
