Ok, so the 3 rotor appears to be sorted! next thing is the gearbox, it needs 6 speeds, 1 st is almost not worth using. :Thumbsup!

A Agree, nothing wrong with FD box, it\'s great, Just need higher gears, or another one on top!

No. It\'s a bit more fiddly than that. For starters, the 8 gearbox is a push type clutch, not pull. Also, it\'s not designed to handle the same sort of torque figures as an FD, let alone a 3 rotor.

Tim\'s (RX motors) has recently put an RX-8 6 speed on his FB. So far, so good as far as i understand, but it did need modifying.

Also, remember that many OEM 6 speed gearboxes don\'t have a (much) higher ratio in 6th gear to your 5th gear on your FD. They just have a closer spread of ratios that\'ll give improved on road torque. For example, most 5 speed gearboxes, fourth gear will likely be 1:1, but on 6 speed boxes 5th gear will most likely be 1:1.

Not to say you won\'t be able to get custom ratios though.

Always fancied playing around with something like a DSG box off the new TT - flappy-paddle goodness without the usual lag.  R&D would cost a fortune though if you could get one that\'s strong enough!

The T56 comes with either a 0.62 0r 0.5 and is mega strong (technical term)
