Title: Fitting Coilovers
Post by: allstaruk on November 03, 2006, 03:47:52 PM
Hi ya guys

I am looking at fitting my HKS coilovers at the moment and i have been looking and I can\'t quite see how to get the shocks out, do you have to take off the upper and lower arms from the car the mazda manual is a bit vauge.

Also how has everyone cured the holding the brake line in place as there is no brakcet on the new ones.

I take it you mean the fronts?

You have ot remove the upper wishbone from the chassis mounts then there should be enough room.

Cool, just worked that bit out, just can\'t get the bottom of one side to go back into the car its so F.ing tight its unbelivable, one side went in fine this one is stupid.

TO be honest I\'m not sure its going to be possible to get it in without filing down the suspesion slighty to make it fit.

Are they height adjustable? Can you make them shorter to fit?? Or use a jack on the lower arm to push it into place???

Got it in, tried the jack technic it still wouldn\'t go, managed to comrpess the whole unit as far as it would go and then lift the car off the axel stand.

The large bar and club hammer technic worked though :D
