Title: Aftermarket seats
Post by: Sy. on November 02, 2006, 11:02:29 AM
Seen lots of seats i want but they come with universal subframes and glidders as suprise they dont do Rx7 ones. Will this fit the rex with out having to have a degree in seat engineering ?

Apparently you have to be careful with aftermarket seats, as some have bolsters that foul on the door.

What you first need to do is measure the seat you want to install. There are only FEW seats that fit into an FD. Seats shold not be wider then 21.5" or so (around 53-54cm). I\'m in search of such seats also and I tell you, it\'s hard to find anything useful. As for the rails:

I also found this, with some crazy prices :)

Thanks gmogle :D

I still haven\'t got around to photographing them in the car, properly - but anyways, here\'s a pic of the seats I have now...

We\'re hoping to finally release our new parts site within the next week. As ever, there\'s teething problems with the programming, but when it comes online, it\'ll offer the entire Bride range at low prices including seat rails, for purchase online via credit card or paypal... :D

Cheers,

Miguel

Previously we tried these Exas III\'s in the RX-7, but in possible family planning for the future, Wife & I decided we needed to have seats that could go forwards to allow a toddler to be fitted behind someday.... so the Exas III seats were put in the AE86 instead, the Mazdaspeed seats were sold to a member here and we invested in a set of Stradia seats, as shown above for the Rex... They\'re the most expensive in the Bride range, but we can supply complete with rails at around £2,000 all in.

We can supply brand new Exas III models, complete with FD3S rails, delivered to your door at just over £1,100. No hassles in fitment - they bolt straight in - and they\'re more comfy than the flashy reclining Stradias...

A word of warning though. Exas III\'s are not for people with big waistlines...
A few larger friends have found themselves wedged and uncomfortable!
...But there are wider seats also available at the same price.

Here\'s a few pics of the Exas III\'s fitted in the AE86.

Cheers

We don\'t TBH, mate - as we rarely get asked for exhausts, but we can supply anything that\'s on the market in Japan, basically - so if you really want something and it\'s not on there, please ask on the site :WaveBye

Yup, of course. We can supply single seat & rails, but it might look a little odd :D

From around next week you\'ll be able to purchase rails online through our new parts website. I have no idea what other seats they\'ll fit - they\'re made by Bride for their own seats.

Thanks

Miguel

I gave my car to a friend for use in his wedding... Was cool to have the Bride sit in the seat.. Wasn\'t cool that he launched it up a tiny road on his very first drive in it with cold tyres and nearly lost the back end  , but cool there were no mishaps :Party

You can have the Exas III seats and rails at a pair delivered  to your door at around £1,100. That\'s NOT a lot of money.... See what they cost retail in Japan and compare - for delivered in UK! :WaveBye

Quality we can offer isn\'t cheapo rubbish, so no point in comparing Bride to say, Cobra - people! We don\'t sell Chinese made Linglong items, but maybe someone else will :WaveBye

Nah, you got me wrong. I didnt say it was expensive, just that it\'s a lot of money :) Will have to find an alternate route. Stock seats just wont cut it for next year autox. Not to mention I cant fit my helmet on as my FD has a sunroof. Grr...

Sy, I was told that bride rails can fit other narrow seats aswell. If not, you can always fabricate some custom brackets.

sounds a bit technical that .... lol ...

or could you take the rails from the standard seats and make a bracket ? it would work right ?
