Not too sure what is helping him along.

He say\'s he is running about 1.15 kg/cm2, about 1.1 bar boost, not a great deal really - he says stock twins, but I bet he is running them non sequential!

Absolutely amazing 60ft time - good on him!!!

Regards

Max

running 1.15 bar with boost dropping and had to 1.1 with stock twins getting 400bhp at the wheels ?? 10.9 1/4 mile 120mph
I would love to believe it being a rotary nut, but i\'m suprised no ones flown the BS flag. I think more than a good  launch would be needed for the above but I have no probelm in being wrong.

I didnt read the other forum being at work, but the little I looked at does say that they were running non sequential Max.

Also to be remembered here is those are American horses (a whole different arguement lol) and that Americans do dragging a whole lot better than us.  The tyre/suspension set up can make a massive difference to the time, as all of it come from the start.  The end speed of I think 120, is not really that high which is more in showing with how much power it has.

I agree with all what Lee has stated. But 10.98 is extremely quick, for his mods, I think alot of people are gonna be sending him emails asking him his launch technique.

The tyre suspension setup is hugely impressive, he said he was launching at almost 7k rpm, I couldn\'t get that sort of traction launching at 7k in second :o

Dave, the US HP figures don\'t tie up with ours at all, take their at the wheel figures and add on 10% to get our fly figures.  They have a completely different way of getting results to us with their transmission losses being a fraction of what we get.

Very good indeed - it is a ported motor.

Don\'t forget Ant ran 118mph at Santa Pod, this guy ran 122mph - Ant\'s engine was stock also.

ET Street Tyres are obvisouly sticky, and no doubt it is a well used track with reasonable conditions.

Nice one.

That was one helluva launch!

To quote from later in that thread though:
Quote1. boost dropping
2. stock gearing
3. nothing fancy in the suspension
4. a stock wiring harness (no expensive standalone)
5. bone stock twins with high miles
6. ET streets (considered street tires)
7. full bodied with full interior, nice one too..
8. drove to the track, ran 10s, drove back home.
9. Rich A/F ratios

Nothing fancy in the suspension... then how the hell did he launch like that? Amazing. :)

I have witnessed the car run first hand. no BS in his statements, not does John need to BS anyone. This is not his first fast mazda, nor is it his only. the car has since had an overhaul with a ported motor and turbo. he would get booted from the track often due to lack of a cage last season. only thing "fancy" is a TII diff and I never notice him mention his diff brace.

Think that we should just say well done rather than trying to slate him sayin he is BS a good driver can make all difference theres no point being jealous
 well done!
