Title: Electrical sensors on the coolant filler.
Post by: imebgo on October 28, 2006, 12:37:32 AM
Quick question needing some clarification:

The filler has a sensor to read the coolant level, there is a second sensor next to it, is this temperature of the coolant?

This sensor has broken in half and may be attributing to some dodgy readings on my apexi, the water temp is reading negative values.  The car is over fuelling when running now, I want to be sure the symptoms are related to the physical damage to the sensor.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I am waiting for a new sensor to really test it all out, but the more information I can gather on this the better.

Cheers,

James

there should be 3 sensors on the filler housing , one on the front that has a lead coming off it , thats the coolant level , 2 on the back , ones the coolant temp other is the thermoswitch for the fans

Think the coolant temp is the lower one but you\'ll need to check

There should be two on the Filler and one on the top of the Back engine Plate.

Auto\'s have two on the front - one is the level sensor and t\'other is a temp sender for the gearbox.

Now we\'re getting confused, if you look at the back of the Water pump housing there is two senders, one is the fan switch the other is to read the temp.

I have no idea what else an Auto has on it but tats how my 94 R2 is. Thre is a level switch in the other side?
