Finially got my hands on winter car, so the rx7 is going into the parents garage for the winter pretty soon, have to get a tralior to put it on to get it up the "lovely" country lane to the house.. just wanted to ask is it alright to just leave it, will it be ok not being run for a few months or do you need to take it out every couple of weeks or so to keep it happy?

I put my Rex away for the winter and it seems to be fine not being run for a few months. I\'d definitely get some sort of battery monitor/trickle charger though (carcoon do a great one) or you\'ll find the battery will get too low and then the alarm will go off. Made worse by the fact that you can\'t turn it off because the battery is too low to accept the signal from the fob so it\'ll just go all night.
I\'d also consider putting the car up on axle stands or your tyres could develop flat spots.
does the petrol not eat away at the seals if its left for a number off months just sitting? im sure i read that somewhere :P
You can get additives to put in your tank while it\'s off the road. I also read you can get round this by making sure the tank is brimmed. :)
spot on timing mate, i was about to ask the same thing my self. so if anyone else has any tips they would now be doubly aprecaited. off topic but wot you got, i found a \'99 scrote si with fully documented 50k on the clock for £850, and the heater workes. Wohoo
would it not be easier to just empty the fuel tank.

erm.. you arent allowed to laugh at my winter car.. pmsl.. its ( im embarrassed) a 1.3 ( same as the rx..:Laugh) fiesta.. MOT til July 07 and tax til march.. cant complain at it, as i didnt pay a penny for it.. pmsl.. oh and its PURPLE..

wish i had enough cash to put my 3.0ltr back on the road that was a very nice car.
so with most people putting there cars in storage i take it another meet not going to be any good this year???

Thinking about getting a rover 214si from a lady at work for £200 for the winter, as long as it\'s taxed and MOT\'d who cares. I\'ll have to get a sticker for it that says, \'My other car is a RX-7\'
about to buy a peugeot 205 gti 1.6 comes with koni all round, lowered 40mm, stainless exhaust, cd player, full service history and just had new brakes all round lol 600 bucks, guna strip the whole thing n knock the poop out of it anyways lol o n a years tax n 9 month mot
