just got a c20xe engine for my run around nova project. he said the head was stage one big valve, with high lift cams. it had kent verniers on and i know the lad through a friend so i took it on face value. after stripping the head to polish the cam cover i noticed GM stamped in the cams.obviously i thought oh no (politely way of putting it). i then removed the inlet manifold to see the port job. casting marks seem to be slighly visible and it doesnt look as if its had a lot of machining. but there are slight abration which could be tool mark. but tbh its only a stage one head. am i just being fussy . any thoughts ? thankyou

Is this one of them new fangled ****TON engines? it\'ll never catch on i tell you.
Sorry, I genuinely know almost nothing about the internals of piston engines, but have a free bump. :)
Those Runners have Defo been Worked, Your best of Finding out what size Stock Valves are then take it from there.
The Cam is a odd one becouse before now i\'ve seen Aftermarket hilift cams that are stock Shafts that have been Reground to a Diffrent Profile.
You can always tell how well a Motor has been ported by Looking at the Manifolds and seeing if they have been matched to the Head and how well they match.
cheers grizzly. the inlet manifold has a few bumps and imperfections on it, around the edge of the manifold face, but inside is a slightly similar finish to the ports for about two inches back into the manifold.
got intouch with the seller today and he swears the cams are reprofiled gm.
i think i need to check duration.
to be fair the valves do look brand new, but that could mean anything.
it just doesnt look like any ported head ive had before.
thanks for the info (and free bump ) ive had this on a few sites and theyve all said the same as you. feel better now lol.
