Title: offset on 18\'s
Post by: PIPFC on October 25, 2006, 04:19:08 PM
i\'m looking at getting a set of 18\'s but need to know what offset is required. they come in 18x8.5 with an offset of either 30 or 36 and looking at 18x9.5 an the rear with offsets in either 35 or 20. i have standard arches.

and before you ask i have tried to use that sticky for offsets and pcd etc.... but it doesn\'t work on my pc:Grrr , so if someone wouldn\'t mind finding out for me it would be much appreciate it:god

i have 18x8.5 front and back running 225 front and 255 rear. the wheels fill the arches really nicely but i needed the arches rolling as the car is very low. ET is 35 for both.

go for 36 on the front and 35 on the rear...youll be fine...might struggle with 20 on the rear........i take it you have standard brakes ?...if so you\'ll be fine. Any pics of the wheels your getting?

I have 20 offset on my rears which are 18x10s. On standard arches they\'ll stick out by 20mm. So unless you intend to widen your arches you\'d need to jack your suspension up and look like a 4x4!

WTF.....where\'s that club? lol.

i have seen a few black cars with gold rims and think they do look quite nice but have never seen it on a rex to convince to go for gold rims. have to say the daiki\'s do look sweet and just been e-mailing a mate and he reckons the daiki\'s would suit the car. so will defo go for the daiki\'s:Thumbs-up  just gotta decide silver or gold

on my current rx i have 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear with an offset of 23. get some rubbing when cornering hard or hitting potholes but i can live with that :D

I\'m looking at Ultralites too.
http://www.ultralitewheels.co.uk/WP-789-A-TEC.html
These ones in particular in 18" and Bronze
That leaves me with a choice of offsets/ET of 35 or 38
(depending on with of the wheel - 8 or 9 inches)
Which would be better and would I need spacers?

What offset would I need to get 18s to sit like you see on alot of jap cars, where it sits out a little from the arch and they have rolled a little lip!?!
