I like it. Wonder what power it puts out.

Would look better with twin or quad throttle bodies though + Microtech + loads of injectors and big fuel rail.

Did Mazda actually produce a non turbo FD? or did this guy just decide to bin the turbos?

What power, 1/4 mile times etc does that 4 x , do.

Yeah, more rotors, more, more, more

I just love the look of N/A engine bays.

They look lovely to work on! Sure a triple rotor NA would have decent power?

I\'m guessing here but 4 rotor peripheral port = 500+ hp easy (based on a 2 rotor PP producing at least 250-300hp)

Add on Microtech/Motec, decent throttle bodies, decent exhaust, decent manifold, fuelling, etc cant see why 600-700hp shouldn\'t be possible, just look at the 787b!

Imagine 8 second 1/4 mile would be a reasonable target to aim for in a lightweight drag car setup. There are some good vids of a 4 rotor N/A PP car on Streetfire.net

Hey that give\'s me an idea - with all that room surely you could squeeze in a turbo........hell why not two! :Thumbsup!  (I could have worked for Mazda! :D)

Sad if its not ported - all of 150Bhp (ish) and no torque to speak of!  They better have made the rest out of fart! :Giggle

Hehe cracked me up that did:Laugh

Though It would be nice to have two FD\'s, one turbo and the non turbo as the daily driver (surely a little more reliable?). Wonder how much insurance is on the non turbo conversion, been considering getting rid of the Polo :Giggle

Knowing insurance companies it will probably be higher as its modified! They tend to have the common sense of a lemming

I have always wondered what it would be like as N/A.  I just love the punch of power and the turbo noises that you get when it has those "asthma pumps" ;)  I would settle for a 20b N/A though - just 360 Bhp will do fine :D  I do love the unclutterd bay.

Now that sounds like a ood idea :D
But the fuel costs would still be high and you might as well get an Rx8 if you could afford one of course, or a Mk1 :D

I can\'t remember power but it\'s in the 10 sec bracket on the 1/4

Perfect emptiness - just add NOS !:spank :spank :Thumbs-up

why do people think tubby\'s are unreliable - nout wrong with them - the one in my T2 is still working despite beginning to leak oil, and that\'s been spinning for 16 years on and off !  I\'d say that was fairly reliable for something that rotates at several thoushand RPM !!

Actually with all that room up front he could squeeze a blower in there !

well done!! and it\'s bootfully  !!,
Move the battery somewhere (e.g in the back etc..)
which rotors are you using?

Hi chris,

I got that picture from garage-r in Japan.  It\'s an old picture on the site but I doubt it\'ll be the same one as the outside is 99 spec\'d.
