Oh I like Silverstone, nice and fast, good track to open her up to 160+. I\'m off down to RE:WORX on Tuesday to have my Motec fitted, Tuned and up the Boost so was looking for somewhere to let her rip.
I will have a look and see whats going on at Bruntingthorpe.

some of you guys might have problems at silverstone. they are being very tight with noise levels recently. i know the ppl who run the gold track club and basically said dont risk wasting your money atm by going there.
bruntingthorpe is great as is castle comb

Cheers, ant.

Maybe have a go at snetterton - also a very fast track. On wednesday I was hitting the rev limiter in fourth so equates to just over 140, i am sure with your monster you can run faster than that!

Ant--yes good idea mate, I\'m sure we could put together a good day. You have the contacts to get us some Mag coverage. When we did it last time with the timing gear, high speed runs etc, that was interesting. It would need
pulling together, maybe a joint MRC + FDUK meet. We will have to have a good chat.
Si, I\'ve never even been to Snetterton. Tell us more.:cool

Details of Snetterton can be found here (http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/snetterton/circuits/snetterton.asp)
Apart from this I\'ve only ever driven brands indy (on the very wet club session in april) but this seems to be a lot quicker. Its very flat but very quick. Two long straights - the back one especially - this is where i was hitting the rev limiter so must have been doing 140. Its very flowing and so seems very well suited to an rx.

On wednesday there were a load of porsche owners club guys there - its fair to say they were quite surprised as a flaming 14 year old jap car went flying past them! And then when i explained it was only a 1.3 ... :spank

On a side note I was quite surprised by how relatively fast the rx was - up to a ton it would keep up with any car, over a ton not a single car i came across could match it. Other cars included various 911\'s (but not the gt2rs, he was in the other session), exige 240, \'rari 355cs, 360 and even a sr4. However it must be said that the radical absoultely mullered me in the corners and so round the whole circuit was a significantly faster car. I am not that good a driver (yet...) and so my cornering was a lot slower than it ought to be, i was just relying on the grunt in the straight - it worked though!

Only hassle i found was that i managed to boil my brakes but it doesn\'t look like that will be a problem for you!

Overall def worth a visit :Thumbs-up

I am surprised to hear that as the remaining Silverstone day track days all state noisy days whicj is basically unrestricted ..... obviously there is a limit but you are talking unsilenced Porsches.

I have never had any trouble at Silverstone.

The evening sessions are a different story ...... definitely restricted.

Yes, a great circuit although a bit of a hike from London.

I agree i think it suits the FD very well ...... how did you get on with the bomb hole ......... fun eh what !

Although there are noise restrictions on days here they seemed totally relaxed on the day I did and there was a really noisy track specced cosworth there.

Snetterton\'s a fab circuit for a powerful RX-7 as it has the longest straight in the UK and you can get up into 5th and keep it welded!!Not many tracks in the UK where you can do that.You\'ll need a sorted set of brakes though!!

Along with the bomb hole and the tricky corum curve it\'s a great fast flowing track.Right up there with Donny as my fav circuit for an RX-7:Thumbs-up

Think those brakes will be more than upto the task!:)

I was running stock calipers with HT10 pads front/HP+ rear last time at Snetterton and they just were\'nt upto the job of braking lap after lap from 150mph on the Revett straight:eek:
