Title: Needed - insurance for a modded rotary
Post by: Prof on October 12, 2006, 10:56:37 PM
Hi guys,

Need a bit of help identifying an insurer who will insure me for my convertible, as a daily driver, not a 2nd car, and with some intended mods.  Will be about 12,000 Anual mileage at the present time.

Tried going with Allen and Allen - who initially seemed to be just what I wanted, but they have turned out to be a shower of $h!t !

They are part of a group which include Prestige, and Hi Peformance.

Any ideas ?

AON give MRC members a discount.  I pay just under £400 with no NCB (2nd car)  with all the mods.

See the insurance section for details of who to speak to.

Stu,  have you ever been on a track????

Might make sense to buy a sh@tter of a car then you could insure it as a 2nd car (I did that with the Chavalier - then I sent the FC in for work so needed to get a better 2nd car!)

I ended up with a ridiculously good quote from HIC (Herts Insurance Consultants) - all moddeds declared and valued for like for like and agreed value on the car plus track day cover - may be worth trying.
