Title: Check valves?
Post by: Grizzly on October 09, 2006, 10:51:46 PM
I have just repiped a Rats nest and replaced all the Green and White Check valves.

Whilst i was doing the Job i noticed there are also Black Check valves.

Is there anything diffrent about these or can i replace them with std Viton Valves? It just seems odd that Mazda used two completly diffrent Valves to do the same Job?

Apparently you can replace them all with the standard ones as i have dun.
A guy on the american forum supplies them and most of the guys there use them with gr8t sucess, me being 1, i have had no issues with my car since replacing them all with the same valve 4 months ago.

Urm, I have just spoke to the Guy in the US that sells these Viton Valves and he says the large black one that goes in the map sensor line is a Filter to stop any Dirt?

He says there is Only 4 Check valves? so i\'m a little confused, I think i\'m going to go have a better look at one, But i am sure its a One way valve???

The black one at the back of the uim and attached to the map sensor that is in turn attached to the bulkhead is just a filter for dirt.
Just get a pack of 4 from him replace al that are faulty and leave the one that is attached to the map sensor alone (Its not a check valve),thats what i did as i had 3 that would not hold any vac at all, my car ran 10 times better after fitting them.

The guys name is Dale Clarke, just send him a msg and he will let ya pay by paypal and hes very quick on delivery.
