Title: No headlghts?!
Post by: Initial-D on October 09, 2006, 07:29:51 PM
For som reason my headlights have stopped working. When I switch the stalk to the first setting the side lights come on but when I switch on the main lights nothing!

I can flash them but nothing else makes them light. The fuses in the footwell and engine bay are all fine, what else could it be? I\'m going to try someone elses stalks to see if that fixes it, but if not does anyone have any other thoughts?

Sounds like a relay to me.

Is there a relay the same for something else (non vital) you can swap over? I\'m new to these so not sure of the fuse box layout...

Spot on!
After testing every wire, swapping the light stalks, checking all the fuses it turned out to be a relay in the rubber covering that had got wet! It\'s always the last and easiest thing thats causing all the fuss isn\'t it!

I was nearly going to take my loom apart and check for broken connections, thankfully it didn\'t come to that!!

Maybe someone can help me out!

I have the same problem, side lights work fine, but dip headlights dont come on.  I had to drive home with main beam on much to other drivers delight!!!!

I also have RE-A Flush lights should that make a difference.

Here is a pic of the engine bay.  Haven\'t tried to look yet cos its too dark so will play round tomorrow, but where should I be looking?  I assume in one of these boxes circled?

Any help greatly recieved!
