Title: Rats nest Vacuum solenoid?
Post by: Grizzly on October 08, 2006, 07:38:00 PM
Hi all.
Are all the Solenoid\'s in the rats nest the same?

I.e. I have managed to brake one of the pipes off one (the one that\'s above the others if you know what i mean). I have one that was taken off an Fd that went single but i am not 100% sure which position it came from??

So that\'s why i\'m interested it looks the same but i don\'t want to use it if problems will start occurring.

Sods Law, I am repiping the rats nest and am being realy carfull not to Damage the Solenoids, all is going well until i turned the assembly over to get at the underside and some how must have knocked the Pipe and its Cracked :reallymad

O well.

Hi Grizzly

I broke one of mine that way, they\'re a right PITA.
They\'re not all the same, but I think most are very similar. An easy way to test is to blow through one end. If there is a principal difference between two it would be that it\'s default (no current) position is to let air pass or not. If the two you\'ve got are the same you\'ll soon tell. Another thing you could test is their impedance. I\'ve got a spare rats nest so I could check a couple out if you want.

Cheers

Ian
